Hello, Mrs. Palin!

Well, these are the pictures of our trip to see Sarah Palin! She was at Sam's Club, signing her book for people. There were so many people out there. And it was cold! We stood for three hours out in that bitter cold! My feet were frozen, I couldn't bend them, and they hurt when I walked. But at least I had on a few layers of clothes, unlike Christy. Dad was planning on driving past Sam's Club, and seeing if there were any open parking spots. Yeah right! People had camped in the parking lot all night, and then got their bracelets first thing in the morning. In order to get in, you had to have a bracelet, and they were only giving out one thousand bracelets. Anyway, Dad saw that it was pretty hopeless, but when he drove around back, he saw that there was a crowd of people back there. It turned out that they had only passed out five hundred bracelets out front, and now they were passing out the remaining five hundred out back! So Dad got in line, and received Bracelet Number 747. Then he called Mom to tell her to bring Christy and I, because you can bring your kids with you, but all the adults had to have bracelets. So Mom couldn't come in, which was really sad. She dropped us off, and I told the nice police officer that we were trying to find our Dad (much to Christy's embarrassment, she hates talking to strangers and she hates it when I do it.). We soon found him in the giant waiting line of hundreds of people. That's where the picture line starts. This is the first picture that Dad took. As you can see, Christy isn't too happy. I guess she thought we were going to be waiting in line inside the building, because she didn't dress very warmly. She was miserable!

This was so funny! There were a few Sarah Palin look-a-likes in the crowd, so I had Dad take my picture with one. She looked a lot like Sarah Palin, though it might not look like they are very similar in this picture. By the way, that's my hood, not a weird hairdo. The ponytail hanging down is my hair. My Mom and I are in debate as to whether my hair is blond or brown. It's clearly brown, but I would like to hear what you think in a comment.
This is a picture of the line! It was huge! This is just a picture of a part of the crowd.

Another picture of the line. It may not look like that many, but there were hundreds and hundreds of people waiting.
Dad spent a lot of time talking to the people in front of us, (we had three hours to kill while we slowly froze to death) so he asked them to take our picture.
This picture is kind of sad. The manager came out and said that they were probably going to cut off the line at number seven hundred, since Sarah Palin had to leave at two o'clock. This is a picture of all the people who were still waiting in line behind us. All of their numbers were above seven-hundred, so they probably didn't get in. That's a lot of people, most of whom have been waiting for a long time!

I couldn't get a picture of Sarah Palin, because they took all camera's and phones, but we did get to meet her when she signed our books. She commented on Dad's Alaska jacket, asked Christy her name, and winked at me since we were being pushed along too fast for her to say anything to me. Dad saw her carrying Trig when she got off the bus, but we weren't there yet, and we didn't see him inside. Outside, Dad had me take a picture of him holding his signed book with the flag behind him.

I Can't Believe it!

I only have time for a very quick post! Dad got tickets to see Sarah Palin! I hope I'm not offending anyone, but I'm so excited! I can't believe he got a ticket! I'll tell you how when I get back. I'll take lots of pictures! Gotta go!

The Moon.

When we got home from church last night, I noticed that the moon looked really cool. So I ran outside and took some pictures. They probably didn't turn out very well, but I'm going to post them anyway. The clouds were thin and fleecy, so the moon peeked through sometimes. But even when it didn't, I could see it through the clouds.

Looking at these pictures, I am again reminded of how good God is to us. The intricate beauty of this world we live in, the complexity and incomprehensible magnitude of the solar system, just for us.

Running back to the house, I took a picture of the lights Dad put up. The front ones blink!

By the way, I now have twelve followers, and I'm so excited! Every one is appreciated, so, to celebrate, I'm going to try to do a caption contest. WILL COME SOON! (I hope.)

Snow!

It snowed! It really snowed! For those who don't know, I live in Arkansas, so it's kinda rare to see it this early. It started about twenty minutes ago, but now it stopped.*pout* I was a little bit alarmed because Mom said that if it froze, we couldn't go to Awanas. And I love Awanas! I teach a group, and they're great little kids. But it's 39 degrees outside, (and in here!)
so it just melted as soon as it hit the ground.

I don't know if you can see the snow, but I think you can. This was the first picture I took, and it turned out the best! It's a picture of our backyard, and it looks awful right now, so just look at the snowflakes. I needed proof so people at church tonight will know that it really did snow!

Oh, and I posted earlier about meeting up with Mom's friend to help me with my algebra. It went really well. He was pretty shy at first, but by the end, he was looking at my work and saying, 'What have you done?' But I now know how to factor! We spent two full hours working on it, but I finally got it!

12 - Ever had a near death experience? Yes, when I was a baby, my parents took me to the doctor because I was acting weird. He said I was fine, and sent us home. But my parents were really worried, because I was really sick. So they took me to the emergency room, and they found out that I was severely dehydrated, so they hooked me up to an IV immediately and I think I was on medication for awhile. The doctor who said I was fine has almost killed another boy in our church, and he has killed a girl.

A Rough Day.

Tonight, I'm going to meet with a friend of Mom's at 5:00 pm. He's going to help me with my algebra. I took Algebra 1 last year, but I didn't pass, so I'm doing it again this year. But it's really hard! I'm doing the Abeka homeschool program, and it's really good, except for Algebra. I just don't have the knack for it. I'm pretty good at all my other subjects, but Algebra just throws me for a loop! Anyway, I've been doing pretty good, until we started factoring. I did really bad on a test on factoring, so Mom decided to talk to her friend, Josh, who has all kinds of degrees in math and algebra. I hope it goes well, he's really nice.

A Happy Thanksgiving.

It has taken me awhile to post about my Thanksgiving, but better late than never. I kinda went camera crazy. I had about 130 pictures of food! Don't worry, I didn't post all of them. lolI started Thanksgiving day with a little picture taking. I don't know why. Anyway, this is the front of our house.This is the back. That's Sarah standing on the deck behind the rails.When I came in for a break, Mom was waiting and she gave me a job.Corn?For those of you who don't know, this is an example of my cooking.I don't think this is right...Okay, this is better.I mean, any idiot can cook corn, right?Wrong. This is harder than it looks.Not to mention that the directions on the back of the package are so tiny that you need a microscope to read them.Straining it.A glob of butter...And my job is done.Mom took care of the stuffing.

I love putting up the tree! As Eldarwen has pointed out, I am pretty tall. (5'9) But that does come in handy when it's time to put the tree top on.

Christy obviously thinks I'm insane. Maybe I am. But I got the top on!

Hay Bales.

This is a sort of victory post. I have learned how to transfer the pictures from the camera to the computer! So, this is the post about my day. Or, the end of my day. We got four bales of hay yesterday, and we were really bored, so I got the camera and took pictures of us doing stupid stuff on the bales.Christy was doing a victory dance on top of the hay bale.

Ha ha! After I took this picture, I went over and tickled her.

Then Oliver, Christy's cat, came. He's so affectionate, but he got in the way as we were jumping from bale to bale.


What a doll! The cat, I mean. lol

Christy captured him and held him prisoner. Poor kitty.

This didn't work as well as I had hoped. After Christy stopped laughing, she took a picture and pushed my foot off so I could get down.

I kept tripping over Christy's coat, and while I was lying there laughing, Oliver came over and used me for a bed.


Wow, I like being able to put pictures on the computer! Now I can bore you with mine and Christy's antics.
